Recognising unhealthy habits
In Lose Weight 4 Life (page 22), I explain how my own food indiscretions were deeply ingrained.
At social events, I'd move from table to table clearing up whatever food was left on plates. In meetings, I would regularly devour a whole plate of Jaffa Cakes or Hobnobs without even thinking about it. I even got into the habit of eating two ready meals every evening, because one just wasn't enough.
Being honest with yourself isn't easy. I found it very difficult. But it's a necessary step if you want to build the resilience you will need to deal with the inevitable setbacks.
For me, good habits and food is still work in progress.
Over time, our goal is to replace bad habits with healthy ones. But the first step is identifying the habits we have today.
Action step
Take some time today to really think about your habits and analyse them. Make a list - just start writing, and see what comes up.
